THE STORY

An Italian-born, London-based producer who keeps dub in conversation with global musicians, electronics and analog studio craft. Gaudi treats collaboration as the center, not an exotic layer pasted onto bass.

GO DEEPER

Gaudi’s career stretches from Italian electronic and reggae experimentation into a long London-based practice built around dub, live musicians and global collaboration. His production commonly places analog synthesizers, bass, tape echo and spring reverb beside voices and instruments from very different musical traditions. “Bass, Sweat & Tears” in 2004 became a major statement of that approach, recorded with dozens of musicians and framed as an organic fusion of dub, global rhythm and electronic production. “Dub Qawwali” in 2007 worked with licensed archival vocals by Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, while “Dub, Sweat & Tears” later rebuilt the earlier album through analog dub mixing. The work belongs near psydub and dubtronica, but its strongest identity is Gaudi’s own collaborative studio method.

How they stand with the others

Studio influenceAnalog dub techniques remain a recurring production language even when the source music is not reggae.
