Ky-Mani Marley began recording in the 1990s and quickly separated himself from a single family template. Like Father Like Son looked directly at Bob Marley’s catalog, while The Journey and Radio leaned harder into R&B, hip-hop and urban production. Many More Roads returned to a more reggae-centered balance and earned a GRAMMY nomination. His voice and collaborations keep moving between reggae, dancehall, rap and film culture. That makes him an important part of Hip-Hop Reggae without reducing his catalog to one hybrid label: he can sound roots-minded on one record and closer to rap or contemporary R&B on the next.
